Belton and Hathern Scout Group was formed in 2001 when the 1st Belton Scout Group and 1st Hathern Scout Group were amalgamated. The Group’s eye catching necker is a combination of the 2 original troops’ colours. We belong to the Loughborough District Scout Association in Leicestershire.

 Location

Most meetings of the sections are held at Charnwood Baptist Church in Shepshed.

Sections

All our sections take both boys and girls. Beavers are aged 6 to 8; Cubs 8 to 10; Scouts 10 to 14 years. Come and check us out to see what we’re up to!

Policy

The leaders of the Belton and Hathern Scout Group endeavor to implement the Aim and Method of the Scout Association:

The Aim of The Scout Association is to promote the development of young people so that they can achieve their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.
The Method of achieving the Aim is by providing an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training based on the Promise and Law of each section: Beaver Scout; Cub Scout; Scout.

Child Protection

The Scout Association’s Child Protection policy is known as the ‘Young People First’ policy and is held up as an example of best practice and praised by the child protection agencies. The Scout Association also enjoys the confidence and trust of thousands of parents who each week place their children in our care.
